She is survived by her loving husband, Ben Casey; her children, Jarrett Peeples of Atlanta, GA, Tyler Peeples (Ashton) of Kingsland, GA, Olivia Supak (Brandon) of Atlanta, GA, and Jacob Casey (Stormy) of Kingsland, GA; and her six beloved grandchildren: Allison, Madison, Tucker, Norah, TJ, and Walker. She is also survived by her sister, Tracie Hartkemeyer of Jacksonville, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Judy Elerson of Blackshear, GA, and her brother, Terry Nevill. He was a graduate of Georgia Military College, Milledgeville, GA, high school and junior college. He then attended The University of Georgia and graduated with a degree in political science and psychology. After graduation, he moved to Atlanta and graduated from Woodrow Wilson College of Law. After law school he worked on the staff of Governor Lester Maddox, worked with Johnnie Caldwell as Deputy Insurance Commissioner, and worked with former governor Carl Sanders at Commercial Standard Insurance Company. In 1975, he and Ginna made the move to St. Marys, Georgia, where he practiced law until his death. He was a long-time member of St Marys Methodist Church and served several community organizations. As quoted by dear friend Charlie Lipman, “Jim was generous to a fault.” Jim often said his passions were family, church, law, fishing, photography, everything southern, and his beloved McIntosh County. “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” Philippians 4:1

Sherry (Nevill) Casey, 60, passed away peacefully on July 20th, surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on August 3, 1964, in Macon, Georgia, Sherry was proudly presented with a silver cup and spoon as the first baby born in the new Riverside Hospital. At age five, she moved with her family to Kingsland, Georgia, where she grew up and
